First Quarter 2022 Credit Grows Double Digits, Bank DKI Continues Positive Performance

The improvement in the Covid-19 pandemic situation has encouraged Bank DKI's performance growth. This was marked by Bank DKI's credit distribution growing double digits by 13.70% from IDR 33.6 trillion as of March 2021 to IDR 38.3 trillion in March 2022. This was conveyed by the Director of Finance & Strategy of Bank DKI, Romy Wijayanto in a written statement in Jakarta, (22/4).
Romy said, "This credit growth was supported by credit distribution in the MSE sector which increased by 26.1% from IDR 1.40 trillion in the first quarter of 2021 to IDR 1.77 trillion in the first quarter of 2022. In the future, Bank DKI will continue to encourage the empowerment of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in DKI Jakarta and the surrounding area through lending and financing to JakPreneur MSME traders and BUMD traders Foods such as Perumda Pasar Jaya, Food Station, Dharma Jaya. Starting in 2022, Bank DKI is also trusted to distribute the People's Business Credit program amounting to IDR 1 trillion to MSMEs.
For the consumer segment, in the first quarter of 2022 there was also year-on-year growth of 12.8%, from previously recorded at IDR 13.56 trillion in the first quarter of 2021 to IDR 15.3 trillion. Furthermore, the commercial segment in the first quarter of 2022 experienced growth of 19.6%, from initially recorded at IDR 12.08 trillion in the first quarter of 2022 to IDR 14.45 trillion. Meanwhile, the Sharia segment also experienced growth of 6.5%, from previously recorded at IDR 5.94 trillion in the first quarter of 2021 to IDR 6.32 trillion in the first quarter of 2022. "The growth in credit and financing was supported by increasing human resource capabilities in the credit sector and simplifying business processes through digitalization," said Romy.
Gradually, Bank DKI also continues to improve credit quality which is well maintained where in the first quarter of 2022, the gross NPL ratio was still maintained at 3.05%, an improvement compared to the previous period of IDR 3.19%. In mitigating various risks that may be faced in the future, Bank DKI also consistently continues to increase reserves as marked by an increase in Bank DKI's coverage ratio to 160.54% in the first quarter of 2022.
Bank DKI's Third Party Funds (DPK) also experienced growth of 34.32% to IDR 57.74 trillion in the first quarter of 2022 from IDR 42.98 trillion in the first quarter of 2021, thus driving the growth of Bank DKI's total assets by 27.7% to IDR 71.13 trillion.
Meanwhile, in the first quarter of 2022, Bank DKI was able to record a net profit of IDR 198.01 billion. This net profit was mainly driven by net interest income which increased 13.5%, from IDR 629 billion in the first quarter of 2021 to IDR 713 billion in the first quarter of 2022. Meanwhile, operating income before provisions (pre-provisioning operating profit/PPOP) was recorded to have grown by 44.7% from IDR 273 billion in the first quarter of 2021 to IDR 395 billion in the first quarter of 2022.
In the first quarter of 2022, Bank DKI's Fee Based Income also showed encouraging growth of 19.6%, from Rp. 97 billion in the first quarter of 2021 to Rp. 116 billion. Romy also added, as part of a series of 5.0 transformation programs currently being rolled out by management, Bank DKI also continues to develop its digital banking products and services through JakOne Community Apps to accommodate changes in customer and community behavior which is increasingly moving towards digital services. JakOne Community Apps is a digital banking service to encourage the implementation of financial inclusion and through the development of digital products and services. The JakOne Community Apps themselves consist of JakOne Mobile, JakOne Abank, JakOne Erte, JakOne Artri, and Ancol Apps. Most recently, Bank DKI presented the Cardless Mobile Cash Withdrawal service and Cash Recycle Machine (CRM) at the New Flagship Branch at the DKI Jakarta City Hall service office.
For its efforts, Bank DKI received a number of awards including World's Best Banks or Best Bank in the World in 2022 according to Forbes Magazine, with 15th out of the 20 Best Banks in Indonesia. "The various improvements and developments carried out have shown encouraging results, Bank DKI was able to record financial performance growth that was above the national banking industry average as well as various digital banking service innovation breakthroughs that were made," concluded Romy.
