OJK and Bank DKI Collaborate to Turn Seribu Island into a Digital Island

Jakarta - The Financial Services Authority and Bank DKI are collaborating to encourage the implementation of non-cash transactions in the Seribu Islands area, DKI Jakarta. This is realized through a financial literacy and inclusion program entitled National Financial Smart Movement or "Intensify Goes to Pramuka Island" on Pramuka Island, North Seribu Islands. Also present at this event were the Head of the Jabodebek OJK, Edwin Nurhadi, the Regent of the Seribu Islands, DKI Jakarta Province, Muhammad Fadjar Churniawan together with the Main Director of Bank DKI, Agus H Widodo and the Director of Wholesale and Retail at Perumda Pasar Jaya.

Head of the Jabodebek OJK, Edwin Nurhadi, in his speech emphasized the importance of the synergy of financial literacy and inclusion in efforts to promote community welfare. "By emphasizing the principle of "no one is left behind", through the DKI Jakarta Province Regional Financial Access Acceleration Team (TPAKD) forum, OJK Jabodebek together with other vertical agencies and financial service institutions are committed to creating equal financial access and increasing financial literacy for the people of DKI Jakarta Province, especially in the Seribu Islands," said Edwin.

The Regent of Seribu Islands, Muhammad Fadjar Churniawan also appreciated this activity as a sustainable effort in making Pramuka Island a "Digital Island" and a model for other islands in Seribu Island Regency. According to him, the Thousand Islands region has great potential to become world-class maritime tourism and therefore requires support from various parties, including the banking industry.

The President Director of Bank DKI, Agus H Widodo, said that implementing financial literacy and inclusion through digital banking services is the key to responding to various banking transaction needs, especially in the island region. For this reason, Bank DKI continues to provide services that reach the community in the Seribu Islands. This is realized by the JakOne Abank agency which uses EDC machines as an embodiment of the Laku Pandai program, to QRIS-based payments which can be used as a means of payment transactions on Pramuka Island.

To date, Agus said that there are 92 merchants equipped with EDC machines to facilitate public transactions, with nominal transactions reaching IDR 6.55 billion in the April 2025 period, or an increase of 44.48% YoY. In terms of physical financial service infrastructure, apart from the Pramuka Island Sub-Branch Office, Bank DKI also provides 12 ATM machines and 1 CRM machine in the Seribu Islands area, which is spread across several islands, namely Pramuka Island, Tidung Island, Harapan Island, Kelapa Island, Pari Island, Untung Jawa Island, Panggang Island, and 1 CRM machine on Sabira Island.

Meanwhile, the Laku Pandai Program with the JakOne Abank agency in the Seribu Islands region has 34 agents with nominal transactions reaching IDR 4.92 billion in the April 2025 period. Currently there are 342 QRIS merchants spread across the Seribu Islands region in the April 2025 period, or an increase of 3.64% yoy, with nominal transactions reaching IDR 472.52 million or an increase of 155.21% yoy, which can be utilized by the public islands, especially on Pramuka Island. The realization of digital transactions in the Seribu Islands which continues to grow positively is the impact of increasing financial literacy which is intensively carried out by the Regulator, DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, and is fully supported by Bank DKI.

Apart from that, Bank DKI has also provided support to MSMEs in the Thousand Islands, also realized by distributing Credit and Financing for the SME Segment for MSME Traders in the Thousand Islands region reaching IDR 5.39 billion, to 51 Traders.

Bank DKI Corporate Secretary, Arie Rinaldi said that Bank DKI will continue to encourage increased literacy and financial inclusion in the DKI Jakarta area and various operational areas of Bank DKI. "Bank DKI is always committed to increasing financial literacy and inclusion in society, especially in the DKI Jakarta area and all our operational areas, as part of a strategy to strengthen the role of the banking sector in supporting sustainable economic growth," concluded Arie.
