Bank Jakarta–Persija "United for Jakarta": From Sponsorship to Strategic Partnership

JAKARTA, August 9, 2026 – Bank Jakarta is strengthening its collaboration with Persija Jakarta as an Official Partner for the 2026–2027 season. More than just a sponsorship, this collaboration—titled "United for Jakarta"—is designed as a strategic partnership that bridges the football ecosystem and the Persija community with Bank Jakarta’s financial services and digital transformation initiatives.

The collaboration between Bank Jakarta and Persija kicked off at Taman Suropati, Jakarta, on Sunday (August 9). The event was attended by the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung; Bank Jakarta President Director, Agus H. Widodo; Persija Jakarta President, Mohamad Prapanca; The Jakmania Chairman, Muhammad Aditya Putra; as well as Persija coach Shin Tae-yong, players, and team officials.

Bank Jakarta President Director Agus H. Widodo noted that the two institutions share a strong, common identity.

"Persija carries the name of Jakarta on its chest. Bank Jakarta carries the name of Jakarta in our identity. Both were born and have grown alongside the same city. Therefore, for us, this collaboration is not merely about sponsorship; it is about how two major Jakarta ecosystems can create broader value for the community," said Agus.

According to Agus, Bank Jakarta aims to elevate the partnership beyond brand visibility, fostering engagement that can be directly experienced by the extended Persija family and The Jakmania supporters.

"From sponsorship to partnership, from visibility to experience. We want this collaboration to deliver programs, benefits, and experiences that are relevant to the extended Persija family and The Jakmania, while simultaneously bringing Bank Jakarta closer to the lives of Jakarta's residents," he stated.

Bank Jakarta will develop various joint activities with Persija, including the integration of banking and digital services into the Persija ecosystem, loyalty programs, benefits for supporters, and other collaborative initiatives throughout the season.

This move expands upon a collaboration that previously encompassed the integration of digital banking services into the Persija Store, Persija Café, and Persija Access.

New Coach, New Energy

The collaboration for the 2026–2027 season coincides with the start of a new era for Persija under coach Shin Tae-yong and a number of new players.

Agus welcomed the arrival of Shin, who is widely known for his work with the Indonesian National Team. He hopes that the South Korean coach's experience and winning spirit will inject new energy into the Macan Kemayoran (The Mighty Tigers).

Interestingly, according to Agus, the playing philosophy Shin Tae-yong aims to instill shares similarities with the spirit of transformation currently being pursued by Bank Jakarta.

"Coach Shin wants Persija to play a fast-paced, attacking game characterized by high mobility and teamwork. That is the same spirit we are cultivating at Bank Jakarta: being faster, more agile, bolder in seizing opportunities, and having the entire organization move as 'one team.' Hopefully, this season will see not only Persija step up to the next level but Bank Jakarta as well," said Agus.

Bank Jakarta hopes the arrival of the new coach and players will energize Persija to achieve great success in the 2026–2027 season. This is particularly significant as Jakarta approaches its historic 500th-anniversary milestone in 2027.

"Of course, all Jakmania [Persija fans] share the same hope: for Persija to become champions. If Persija can deliver a title during the momentum of Jakarta's 500th anniversary, that would be a perfect gift for the city," said Agus.

Acting Governor of Jakarta Pramono Anung also expressed his hope that the synergy between Bank Jakarta and Persija would yield positive results and boost the achievements of the club that is the pride of Jakarta's citizens.

"I hope Persija Jakarta can achieve excellence by winning the Indonesian Super League in the 2026–2027 season. This would be the finest gift for the people of Jakarta and Jakmania as we welcome the city's 500th-anniversary commemoration in 2027," said Pramono.

Persija Jakarta President Mohamad Prapanca welcomed the continuation of the partnership.

"This ongoing support serves as a major source of motivation for the management and the team to keep improving performance, achieving the highest honors, and delivering the best possible experience for Jakmania," said Prapanca.

Bank Jakarta Unveils a New Digital Face

The "United for Jakarta" momentum also marks the next step in Bank Jakarta's transformation. Coinciding with the launch of the collaboration with Persija, Bank Jakarta officially introduced bankjakarta.co.id as the company's new digital home, replacing the bankdki.co.id domain previously known to the public.

This change represents not only a shift in name and corporate identity but also Bank Jakarta's commitment to building a digital experience that is increasingly modern, intuitive, and customer-centric.

"A new name deserves a new digital experience. We want Bank Jakarta's digital face to reflect the bank we are building: fresher, more modern, more intuitive, and more customer-centric," said Agus.

According to him, this shift in approach is part of Bank Jakarta's effort to evolve from a corporate website that primarily serves as an information channel into a digital experience that actively supports the customer journey.

Agus even invited the public and The Jakmania to try out Bank Jakarta's new website firsthand on their mobile devices. "A digital experience should be felt, not just described. Explore it, try it, feel the difference. And if anything is missing, tell us. Because transformation isn't about claiming Bank Jakarta is already perfect; transformation is the courage to keep improving," he said.

Bank Jakarta Aims to Be Chosen Because It Is Worthy

Furthermore, Agus emphasized that the collaboration with Persija and the digital channel overhaul are part of a larger journey to elevate Bank Jakarta's standing as Jakarta transforms into a global city. Shifts in public behavior, technological advancements, and rising customer expectations, he noted, require Bank Jakarta to continuously enhance its capabilities and competitiveness. "Jakarta is moving toward becoming a global city.

Therefore, the bank that bears Jakarta's name must also elevate its standing. We want Bank Jakarta to be increasingly modern, professional, digital, financially sound, and competitive, while remaining close to the community," said Agus. He stressed that while being owned by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is a strength, it should not be the sole reason people use Bank Jakarta. "We don't want people to choose Bank Jakarta simply because we are Jakarta's bank. We want to be chosen because we are truly worthy of that choice. That is the Bank Jakarta we are building," Agus asserted. Driven by the "United for Jakarta" spirit, Bank Jakarta hopes its collaboration with Persija will serve as a bridge to connect more closely with the community while reinforcing the bank's relevance in urban life. New coach. New players. New energy. And for Bank Jakarta: New website. New experience. New spirit. All of this is fueled by a shared spirit: bringing pride to Jakarta. About Bank Jakarta: Bank Jakarta is a Regional Development Bank owned by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government that is continuously transforming into a modern, sound, professional, digital, and competitive bank.

By leveraging the strengths of Jakarta's ecosystem and developing digital capabilities, Bank Jakarta is committed to better meeting the community's needs while contributing to Jakarta's journey toward becoming a global city.
