Published: 08 December 2021

Bank DKI's Sharia Business Unit (UUS) won the Best Digital Innovation Regional Sharia Bank award from the 2021 Republika Syariah Anugerah which was held virtually by Republika. This was conveyed by the Corporate Secretary of Bank DKI, Herry Djufraini, in his written statement in Jakarta (8/12).

The award was received directly by the Director of MSE Credit and Sharia Business at Bank DKI, Babay Parid Wazdi. "Thank you to Republika and the jury for the award won at the Anugerah Syariah Republika event in the category of Regional Sharia Bank with the Best Digital Innovation in the BPD Sharia Business Unit group. The award received by the Bank DKI Sharia Business Unit is of course thanks to the trust given by all customers, shareholders and stakeholders for the products and services of the Bank DKI Sharia Business Unit," said Babay.

The 2021 Anugerah Syariah Republika Award was given to UUS Bank DKI based on the results of an independent assessment from the jury. This assessment aspect consists of quantitative and qualitative assessments, such as profits, financing growth, capital adequacy ratio, non-performing financing, return of capital, expansion, financial inclusion, technological innovation, branchless bank/financial industry innovation, and creativity to open financial access for the lower middle class.

As is known, UUS Bank DKI has provided digital services related to non-cash infaq payments at mosques in DKI Jakarta which accept payments using the JakOne Mobile QR Code or QRIS. People who want to do charity or donate can use the Scan to Pay method using the JakOne Mobile application. "Bank DKI's Sharia Business Unit continues to innovate to provide easy transactions for customers through the JakOne Mobile digital banking service with a scan to infaq service to make it easier for people to do charity, pay zakat, infaq and alms via QRIS at more than 2,400 mosques in DKI Jakarta," said Babay.

The public can also take advantage of the JakOne Mobile feature for zakat and infaq payment options through various institutions such as Bank DKI Peduli, Baznas (Bazis) DKI Jakarta, LazisMU, Al-Azhar Mosque, NU Care, ACT Foundation, Dompet Dhuafa Republika Foundation, DKI Jakarta Indonesian Cancer Foundation, or other donation institutions. It is hoped that this non-cash banking service support will make it easier for people to channel some of their sustenance into zakat and donations in addition to using other methods such as through the inter-account transfer menu.

The development of Bank DKI's UUS can also be seen from the financial performance of the Sharia Business Unit in the third quarter of 2021, which grew positively. UUS Bank DKI distributed financing amounting to IDR 6.44 trillion as of September 2021, or grew by 19.2% from IDR 5.40 trillion as of September 2020. This financing was dominated by distribution of financing to the productive sector amounting to IDR 4.37 trillion, or 67.9% of the total financing, and the consumer sector amounting to IDR 2.06 trillion. Furthermore, Herry said that Bank DKI UUS DPK growth grew 27.3%, namely IDR 4.51 trillion as of September 2021 compared to the September 2020 period of IDR 3.54 trillion. These various financial performance achievements have also encouraged an increase in assets which grew by 21.3% from IDR 5.80 trillion as of September 2020 to IDR 7.04 trillion as of September 2021.

In developing its business, UUS Bank DKI continues to collaborate with BUMD DKI Jakarta, including through optimizing sharia banking services to PD Dharma Jaya. Apart from that, UUS Bank DKI also synergized with PT Sarana Multigriya Finansial (SMF) to support the National Economic Recovery (PEN) program through the signing of Mudharabah Muqayyadah Akad financing worth IDR 479 billion with a replacement financing scheme which is expected to increase housing financing capacity.

UUS Bank DKI also provides various sharia financial solutions such as Hajj and Umrah Savings (Taharoh), KMG Syariah financing, and presents Scan to Pay QRIS JakOne Pay which can be used to make zakat, infaq and alms payments digitally. "With products and services that are increasingly innovative and customer-centric, UUS Bank DKI hopes to continue providing optimal services for customers and the people of DKI Jakarta," concluded Babay.
