Collaborating with Amazon Web Services and Telkomsigma, Bank DKI Strengthens Digital Service Transformation

Jakarta - Strengthening digital services and ecosystems, Bank DKI is collaborating with PT Amazon Web Services Indonesia (AWS Indonesia) and PT Sigma Cipta Caraka (Telkomsigma) regarding the use of cloud computing technology. This was conveyed by the Director of Technology and Operations at Bank DKI, Amirul Wicaksono, after signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding this cooperation in Jakarta (6/9).
Amirul said, "In the midst of developments in the digital era, we (Bank DKI) are trying to consistently provide digital banking services that can make transactions easy and comfortable for customers. For this reason, we are accelerating Bank DKI's digital transformation process with support from AWS Indonesia and Telkomsigma."
Bank DKI's digitalization efforts will be supported by AWS Indonesia through the presence of a solution architect and the development of IT human resources at Bank DKI to increase its ability to operate cloud computing-based services.
Thus, Bank DKI IT HR will receive a number of training and enablement by Amazone Web Services in order to increase capabilities and competencies regarding cloud computing.
Meanwhile, Telkomsigma as a local partner providing digital transformation, in this case has agreed to strengthen Bank DKI's modernization and digitalization journey through cloud-based infrastructure which is in line with Bank DKI's digital transformation roadmap. In the following collaboration, Telkomsigma's agreement was also stated to utilize banking products and services from Bank DKI.
Amirul added that the use of cloud computing will encourage Bank DKI to continue to innovate to provide services that focus on customer needs quickly and adaptively following the latest technology trends. "Cloud will be the backbone of future infrastructure to realize digital banking services with the JakOne Mobile super app and JakOne Pay electronic money for fast, safe, easy and reliable digital transaction services."
Telkomsigma Business & Sales Director, Tanto Suratno said, "This collaboration confirms Telkomsigma's commitment to continue to be present as a digitalization partner for the banking sector through cloud-based infrastructure support, which in this case we are realizing for Bank DKI starting from IaaS cloud services, and will be developed to PaaS and SaaS-based clouds."
Meanwhile, Amazon Web Services Indonesia Country Manager, Gunawan Susanto also said, "In plan we will create values. This collaboration is a form of our commitment to continue contributing to Indonesia through the capabilities of the AWS Partner ecosystem to build cloud systems. Especially at Bank DKI, we hope it will provide benefits that encourage Bank DKI's scalability so that it can modernize its business."
As is known, Bank DKI is actively carrying out digital innovation as a foundation for future growth by carrying out digitalization which is considered an enabler of the company's business transformation, from a savings bank (product centric) to a transaction bank (customer centric), which provides solutions to customer needs.
The series of Bank DKI digitalization processes/milestones began in 2007, at which time Bank DKI launched JakCard as a prepaid smart card which is used as a means of payment for various transactions at merchants that have collaborated with Bank DKI, including as e-tickets for various integrated modes of public transportation in DKI Jakarta.
Now, Bank DKI is increasingly adaptive to meet the needs of customers who demand ease of service through digital service transformation. Through the JakOne Mobile super app, Bank DKI presents digital banking solutions for customer users to create a more personal, mobile and reliable transaction experience starting from opening online savings accounts anywhere and anytime, paying various bills and shopping online, QRIS transactions, top up electronic money, to giving alms/donations to others to securing emergency funds through opening deposits.
Equipped with JakOne Pay electronic money, customers using JakOne Mobile mobile banking can easily make transactions and make payments via QRIS with a choice of source of funds, a savings account or electronic money. As for the second quarter of 2022, JakOne Mobile application users have reached 1.7 million users with a nominal transaction amount reaching IDR 9.1 trillion, and transaction volume reaching 10.8 million transactions, followed by QRIS transactions which grew 742% (yoy).
In addition, as part of its commitment to improving the quality of information security, Bank DKI successfully received ISO 27001:2013 Information Security Management System Certification for Providing JakOne Mobile Super Apps Services from TUV Rheinland Indonesia. Through this certification, Bank DKI has made an important commitment to fulfill regulations such as Bank Indonesia Regulations (PBI), Financial Services Authority Regulations (POJK), and National Cyber and Crypto Agency Regulations (BSSN), considering that banks are a strategic industry that must protect customer data and services, especially in implementing Cyber Security.
As a form of appreciation, on August 25 2022, Bank DKI also won 3 awards at the prestigious 27th Infobank Awards event, namely Special Performance Bank in the Core Capital Bank Group (KBMI) 2 category with assets of IDR 50 trillion to under IDR 100 trillion, Golden Trophy (Performance predicate "Very Good" for 5 consecutive years) and Performance predicate "Very Good" in the KBMI 2 category (Assets IDR 50 Trillion Up to Under IDR 100 Trillion). Apart from that, on May 19 2022, Bank DKI also won the TOP BUMD 2022 award from Infobank Magazine and The Asian Post as one of the BPDs with the "Excellent" predicate in the KBMI 2 Bank category with assets of IDR 50 trillion to IDR 100 trillion. In the same year, Bank DKI was also included in the list of 15 Best Banks in Indonesia as well as being included in the ranks of the World's Best Banks or Best Banks in the World in 2022 according to Forbes Magazine.
Bank DKI Net Profit Grows 30.64%
Bank DKI succeeded in recording positive performance growth in mid-2022. Based on the audited financial report for the period June 2022, Bank DKI succeeded in recording profit growth of 30.64% Yoy to IDR 504.90 billion from the previous quarter II 2021 of IDR 386.47 billion.
Bank DKI's financial performance indicators recorded good growth, including total assets which grew by 28.99%, from Rp. 56.73 trillion in the second quarter of 2021 to Rp. Credit growth occurred in all segments, with the Micro segment having the highest growth percentage of 34.77% in the second quarter of 2022. This growth in credit distribution was also supported by improvements in Bank DKI's asset quality which was marked by a decrease in the NPL ratio, recorded at 2.26% in the second quarter of 2022 or an improvement compared to the second quarter of 2021 of 3.03%.
Apart from credit, Bank DKI also managed to record growth in Third Party Funds (DPK) of 35.12% (yoy) from IDR 44.95 trillion in the second quarter of 2021 to IDR 60.73 trillion in the second quarter of 2022. The growth in TPF was mainly driven by growth in Giro funds of 30.70% from IDR 11.07 trillion in the second quarter of 2021 to IDR 14.47 trillion in the second quarter. 2022.
