Bank DKI Supports Governor Pramono's Designation of Block M as Jakarta's New Hub
Jakarta, May 26 2025Jakarta– Bank DKI supports the designation of the Blok M area as a new hub which was declared by the Governor of Jakarta Pramono Anung in the context of the 498th Anniversary (HUT) of the City of Jakarta at the Martha Christina Tiahahu Literacy Park, Saturday (24/5/2025).
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government plans to develop infrastructure in the Blok M area, including the construction of disabled-friendly sidewalks and a 24-hour public park. Apart from that, regional connectivity is being strengthened through the launch of new routes from PIK 2 and Alam Sutera, as well as plans for cross-regional transportation integration through "Trans Jabodetabek".
Governor Pramono stated that this integration aims to reduce congestion caused by the daily mobility of millions of people, while maintaining Jakarta's cultural identity. "We can't just think about Jakarta. Trans Jabodetabek is a real solution,"
Bank DKI also supports the realization of the integration of public transportation in Jakarta through a non-cash payment system, namely JakCard. Previously, Bank DKI has also supported a free public transportation program for 15 groups of citizens by issuing Jakarta Mobility Free Access Cards (JakMob) which are integrated with TransJakarta, MikroTrans, LRT, MRT and KRL transportation modes.
Declaration of the 498th Anniversary of the City of Jakarta
In order to welcome the 498th Anniversary of the City of Jakarta, Bank DKI showed its support by participating in the DKI Jakarta Anniversary Celebration event which is held every year by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. Support for this activity is part of Bank DKI's synergy as a BUMD with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government's strategic programs, especially in increasing the spirit of togetherness and encouraging local economic growth.
The President Director of Bank DKI, Agus H. Widodo said, "Bank DKI is present and actively participating as a form of real support for the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government's program. Through the momentum of DKI Jakarta's anniversary, Bank DKI is participating in enlivening and providing space for MSME players to develop and reach a wider market," he said.
In this activity, Bank DKI also presented a booth which also introduced digital financial services such as JakOne Mobile and JakCard as banking solutions that facilitate transactions for visitors and business people at the bazaar. This is in line with Bank DKI's commitment to supporting financial inclusion in Jakarta.
This year's 498th anniversary celebration of Jakarta carries the theme "Jakarta is a Global and Cultural City". This theme reflects Jakarta's aspirations to become a city that is not only economically and infrastructurally advanced, but also rich in culture and strong local identity.
