Q1 2024, Bank DKI MSME Credit Grows 39.18%

Jakarta - Bank DKI continues to focus on increasing its MSME portfolio in accordance with the bank's vision and mission. As of Q1 2024, MSME credit and financing increased 39.18% from IDR 3.8 trillion as of March 2023 to IDR 5.2 trillion as of March 2024. The cumulative portion of MSME credit and financing compared to total credit and financing also increased from 7.77% as of March 2023 to 10.36% as of March 2024 of Bank DKI's total credit and financing as of March 2024. IDR 50.5 trillion as recorded in the Publication of Bank DKI's Financial Report for the period March 2024. This was conveyed by the Director of Finance and Strategy of Bank DKI, Romy Wijayanto in a written statement in Jakarta (30/04).

Romy further said that the growth in credit and financing for MSMEs was driven by growth in credit and financing in the micro segment of 39.77% from IDR 2.7 trillion as of March 2023 to IDR 3.8 trillion as of March 2024 and growth in credit and financing in the retail segment of 37.70% from IDR 1.1 trillion as of March 2023 to IDR 1.5 trillion as of March 2024. In other segments, credit and financing in the consumer segment of Bank DKI also experienced growth of 9.96% from IDR 20.5 trillion as of March 2023 to IDR 22.6 trillion as of March 2024. Meanwhile, credit and financing for the medium, commercial and syndicated segments decreased by 5.67% from IDR 24.1 trillion as of March 2023 to IDR 22.7 trillion as of March 2024. This decrease is part of the bank's strategy to shift focus to increase credit in the MSME segment.

Romy Wijayanto also said that Bank DKI's Third Party Funds (DPK) reached IDR 62.1 trillion as of March 2024 amidst the ongoing period of high interest rates (higher for longer). Bank DKI also continues to improve its DPK structure which is reflected in the CASA ratio which has increased from 34.35% as of March 2023 to 41.45% as of March 2024.

The cheap funds collected by the Bank reached IDR 25.8 trillion, consisting of Current Accounts of IDR 15.9 trillion as of March 2024, growing 16.41% from IDR 13.6 trillion as of March 2023 and Savings of IDR 9.9 trillion as of March 2024 which grew 4.86% from IDR 9.4 trillion as of March 2023. The Bank also reduced the portion of expensive funds held, reflected in Deposits which decreased by 17.44%. from IDR 44.1 trillion as of March 2023 to IDR 36.4 trillion as of March 2024. Romy said that this step was the strategy chosen by the Bank to maintain the company's liquidity with the Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) increasing from 72.06% as of March 2023 to 81.31% as of March 2024.

Furthermore, Romy, with these various conditions, Bank DKI was still able to maintain a net profit of IDR 187 billion as of March 2024, which was driven by net interest income of IDR 650 billion and Fee based Income of IDR 134 billion as of March 2024. Overall, Bank DKI's total assets as of March 2024 reached IDR 78.2 trillion.

Bank DKI Corporate Secretary, Arie Rinaldi, added that apart from financial performance achievements, throughout the Q1 2024 period Bank DKI also received a number of institutional and individual award categories such as the Indonesia Best BUMD Awards 2024, Investor Daily ESG Appreciation Night 2023, 4th Indonesia Syariah Awards 2024 and other personal category awards. "A number of appreciations from these independent institutions provide motivation for us to continue various business initiatives through synergy, as well as confirming our commitment to achieving sustainable good performance, especially in supporting Jakarta as a Global City," concluded Arie.
