Providing Ease of Non-Cash Transactions, Bank DKI Implements Digitalization at the South Jakarta Grass Market

Published: 21 October 2022

Jakarta – Bank DKI, through the transformation of its digital services, continues to expand the application of digitalization in DKI Jakarta in order to make non-cash transactions easier, including for the MSME sector, one of which is at Pasar Rumput, South Jakarta. The launch ceremony for the market digitalization program took place on Friday, October 21 2022. Present on the occasion were Suharman Tabrani, as Deputy Head of Bank Indonesia DKI Jakarta Representative Office, Herlina Tampubolon as Deputy Director of Bank Supervision at the Financial Services Authority, Regional Office 1 Jakarta and Banten, and Director of Retail & Sharia at Bank DKI, Babay Parid Wazdi.

Director of Retail & Sharia at Bank DKI, Babay Parid Wazdi, said that this digitalization was a collaborative program of Bank DKI, OJK, Perumda Pasar Jaya, and Bank Indonesia as a continuation of similar implementations that had previously been carried out at Pasar Santa, Pasar Kedoya, Koja, Perumnas Klender, and Pasar Kebayoran Lama. "The contribution of the MSME sector is very large to economic growth in Indonesia, especially DKI Jakarta. Therefore, Bank DKI pays attention to providing easy daily transactions not only for traders as MSME players, but also visitors to Pasar Rumput," said Babay Parid.

For information, market digitalization carried out by Bank DKI at Pasar Rumput includes providing a payment ecosystem through the JakOne Abank application, implementing QRIS, and digitizing payments in other facilities in the market environment which is expected to encourage the implementation of non-cash transactions.

In support of the MSME sector, Bank DKI also provides JakOne Mobile as a super app with various digital service features that can accommodate various daily financial transaction needs, especially for traders and visitors to Pasar Rumput, such as paying various bills, taxes, levies, online shopping, top up electronic money, Scan by QRIS, and giving alms/donations to various institutions. JakOne Mobile also comes with a more attractive and user friendly UI/UX and provides an online savings account opening feature without having to go to a Bank DKI branch office.

Apart from using the JakOne Mobile application, Bank DKI invites Pasar Rumput traders to join as JakOne Abank agents, and can serve various banking transactions and earn commissions from each transaction. At the South Jakarta Rumput Market itself there are 1,510 kiosks, with a total of 900 active traders who can have the potential to digitize the market through JakOne Abank. As of September 2022, Bank DKI has 21 thousand merchants who have joined Bank DKI's JakOne Mobile QRIS service, with a total of 1.43 million transactions with a transaction nominal reaching IDR 178 billion.

Babay Parid further added that through the launch of the digitization of the Rumput Market, it is hoped that it will bring benefits, namely expanding financial inclusion in DKI Jakarta through the implementation of non-cash transactions. "Bank DKI is currently also developing a Digital Lending application as a solution in providing access to capital for business actors which is of course good for accelerating economic growth, especially in DKI Jakarta," concluded Babay Parid.
