Jakarta BUMDs Asked to Increase Synergy, Support Jakarta Global City

Jakarta - In line with discussions on the formation of the Jakarta Special Region, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is preparing to become the Jakarta Global City. One of the things that can encourage this to happen is increasing the role and contribution of BUMD (Regionally Owned Enterprises) of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to a more optimal level and preparing itself to carry out various action programs in realizing Jakarta Global City.

This was conveyed by the Regional Secretary of DKI Jakarta Province, Joko Agus Setyono after giving a keynote speech at the BUMD Jakarta Forum CFO (Chief Financial Officer) Kick Off and Workshop at The Tavia Herritage Hotel Jakarta (28/02). "BUMD DKI Jakarta needs to continue to increase synergy between BUMD, SKPD and BLUD DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and remain agents of development," said Joko Agus Setyono.

Joko Agus expressed his appreciation and welcomed the initiation of the formation of the CFO BUMD Jakarta Forum consisting of 14 DKI Jakarta BUMDs whose share ownership is more than 50% owned by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government as Controlling Shareholders, namely Bank DKI, Sarana Jaya, Pasar Jaya, PAM Jaya, PAL Jaya, Dharma Jaya, MRT Jakarta, Trans Jakarta, Jakarta Propertindo, Jakarta Tourisindo, Food Station, Jamkrida Jakarta, JIEP Pulogadung, and Pembangunan Jaya Ancol.

In line with the DKI Jakarta Regional Secretary, the Head of the DKI Jakarta BUMD Development Agency, Nasruddin Djoko Surjono, hopes that the BUMDs that are members of the CFO BUMD Jakarta Forum will continue to improve their performance in a healthy, good and sustainable manner and can become flagship companies in their respective business fields. It is hoped that the CFO BUMD Jakarta Forum can be an orchestrator of the potential of BUMDs in providing benefits to the people of Jakarta. "There is great hope that BUMDs can synergize more to support each other and work on business potential together, and be connected in one ecosystem," said Nasruddin.

Nasruddin also hopes that the DKI Jakarta BUMD ecosystem can develop more broadly by combining the existing ecosystem in each BUMD with the ecosystem in other BUMDs, then connecting with various ecosystems in the city of Jakarta so as to provide benefits for Jakarta residents.

Chairman of the CFO of the BUMD Jakarta Forum, Romy Wijayanto, who is also the Director of Finance and Strategy at Bank DKI, said that he had prepared a number of work programs based on the aim of establishing this forum. "The CFO of the BUMD Jakarta Forum is expected to play a role in providing strategic input in order to improve the performance of BUMDs of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through digital collaboration, institutional relationships, as well as improving Environment, Social & Governance programs between BUMDs," said Romy.

Romy added, the Jakarta BUMD CFO Forum is a forum that provides interaction and communication for Jakarta BUMD Finance Directors regarding business collaboration and in order to support various DKI Jakarta Provincial Government programs.

Apart from the CFO Forum kick off event, it was followed by a panel discussion with the theme "The Role of BUMD towards Jakarta Global City" with panelists from the Director of National Priority Infrastructure Project Planning & Development at Bappenas, Sumedi Andono Mulyo, Head of DKI Jakarta Provincial Bappeda, Atika Nur Rahmania, and Managing Director & Senior Partner of Boston Consulting Group, Edwin Utama.

The event also discussed the synergy work program between BUMDs which was attended by 14 Main Directors and 14 Finance Directors of BUMDs, together with Forum members, with the hope of implementing BUMD synergy to be more solid, as a communication medium and problem solver for various problems that exist in Jakarta BUMDs.

Bank DKI Corporate Secretary, Arie Rinaldi, conveyed the Jakarta BUMD CFO Kick Off and Workshop. This forum provides benefits for the big plan to make Jakarta a global city. "With the presence of the BJF CFO, it is also hoped that good communication will be established through sharing sessions, knowledge transfer and solutions will emerge in line with Jakarta's preparations to become a global city," concluded Arie.
