End of Year Gift, DKI Provincial Government Free Transum for Two Days

Jakarta - In order to welcome the New Year 2026, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) is giving special gifts to the community. The Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung stated that all public transportation (transum) managed by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is free today (Rp. 1) for two days.

"As a form of appreciation to residents, public transportation managed by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will be free on December 31 2025 from 00.00 to January 1 2026 at 23.59 WIB," explained Governor Pramono in Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (30/12).

This policy is to facilitate the mobility of residents who want to celebrate New Year's Eve in Jakarta. The modes of transportation that are free are Transjakarta buses, MRT Jakarta and LRT Jakarta. The DKI Jakarta Transportation Department has also extended public transportation operational hours to support a series of New Year celebration events.

Transjakarta on the affected routes, MRT and LRT Jakarta operates until 02.00 WIB on January 1 2026. Track modifications and adjustments to the operational times of Transjakarta which pass through the event stage area are also carried out until 18.00 WIB. Meanwhile, Transjakarta main corridor services (which are not affected by traffic diversions) will continue to operate 24 hours.

"We also urge people who will be present at the event location to use public transportation. Even though parking bags have been prepared, all transportation services are free so we hope people can take advantage of them," explained Governor Pramono at City Hall, Wednesday (31/12).

There are 36 parking spots scattered around the event stages with a total capacity for 22,306 cars, 21,132 motorbikes and 182 buses.

The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency will also implement traffic engineering by closing roads and providing alternative routes at several points around the event stage area in stages and on a situational basis starting at 18.00 WIB (31/12/2025) until 01.00 WIB (1/1/2026). A total of 2,191 Transportation Service personnel, 1,692 Satpol PP personnel and 3,395 Environmental Service personnel were deployed to help run the event smoothly.

Governor Pramono hopes that the various events that the DKI Provincial Government has prepared to welcome the new year can be enjoyed with joy by all residents. He also appealed to all residents to maintain order and security for the sake of mutual comfort.

"We hope that people can welcome the New Year with a feeling of happiness, full of togetherness, and maintaining order," he concluded.
