Bank Jakarta Launches Visa Debit Card, Expands Access to Global Transactions and Accelerates Regional Banking Transformation
Jakarta, January 06 2026Jakarta — In order to expand access to global transactions for customers while supporting the strengthening of Jakarta's city branding as a Global City, Bank Jakarta officially launched the Bank Jakarta Visa Debit Card. This strategic collaboration with global payments principal Visa is an important part of Bank Jakarta's transformation agenda towards a regional bank that is modern, competitive and connected to the global financial ecosystem.
The launch of the Bank Jakarta Visa Debit Card was held on Monday (5/1) in Jakarta and was inaugurated by the Governor of DKI Jakarta Province, Pramono Anung, Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Province, Rano Karno, Chairman of the DKI Jakarta Provincial DPRD Khoirudin together with the President Director of Bank Jakarta, Agus H. Widodo, and Visa Indonesia Country Manager, Vira Widiyasari. This momentum marks Bank Jakarta's strategic step in strengthening cross-border transaction capabilities for various customer segments.
The Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung welcomed the launch of the Bank Jakarta Visa Debit Card as a collaboration in building a healthy bank "If trust can be built, I am sure, this bank will fly. So, in my opinion, collaboration with visa is one of the steps to build trust, build trust with the public," said Governor Pramono.

Widodo, emphasized that the launch of the Visa Debit Card is part of Bank Jakarta's comprehensive transformation which is oriented towards strengthening transactions, service relevance and customer experience. He added that strengthening transactions is the main foundation for building long-term relationships with customers and creating healthy and sustainable growth.

The Bank Jakarta Visa Debit Card comes in two variants, Visa Classic and Visa Platinum, including options for customers with service needs based on sharia principles. This card can be used for transactions at millions of merchants and ATMs with the Visa logo throughout the world, both for retail payments, e-commerce transactions and cash withdrawals when traveling abroad.
In terms of security, the Bank Jakarta Visa Debit Card is equipped with EMV chip technology to minimize the risk of skimming, as well as 3D Secure protection for online transactions, thus providing a sense of security and comfort for customers in digital transactions.
