Asbanda is optimistic that BUMD synergy can be implemented in Indonesia

Published: 26 February 2020

It is believed that the implementation of BUMD synergy that has been implemented by Bank DKI together with BUMD in DKI Jakarta can be applied throughout Indonesia. Building BUMD synergies in each region will increase effectiveness and efficiency in development activities as well as increase the competitiveness and capability of BPDs throughout Indonesia. This was conveyed by the General Chairperson of Asbanda, Supriyatno during the National BUMD Synergy Seminar in Jakarta (22/02).

Supriyatno stated that the synergy carried out by Bank DKI with BUMD could be a very good example to support PAD. Bank DKI is expected to become a mentor and an example for BPD in developing the digital ecosystem and how to build cooperation between BUMD. "We can emulate the success of DKI Jakarta," hoped Supriyatno.

BPD was established with the aim of encouraging regional development, supporting infrastructure development, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), agriculture, trade and economic activities in the context of regional development, of course requiring synergy support between BUMDs in each region.

Bank DKI Corporate Secretary Herry Djufraini said that by using various Bank DKI products and services such as JakCard, JakOne Mobile, Bank DKI Cash Management System, Regional Development Banks can utilize Bank DKI products and services to build synergies with BUMDs in their respective regions, with various conveniences such as budget efficiency because there is no need to build infrastructure from scratch.

Director of Bank Central Sulawesi Rahmat Abdul Haris stated that the synergy transformation between BPDs had been carried out since 2015. "What is most visible is IT synergy, where IT is best for BPDs to become mentors for other BPDs," said Haris. He gave the example of Bank Sulteng and other BPDs taking part in IT development under the guidance of Bank DKI Jakarta. "We just need to work together, there is no need to build our own system, because the costs are quite expensive and we need people with special skills," explained the Head of Operations and IT at Asbanda.
