Realizing Financial Inclusion for Disabled People, Bank Jakarta and Indogrosir Present Mandiri Shop for Disabled People

Jakarta – Making financial inclusion a reality for people with disabilities, Bank Jakarta collaborated with Indogrosir to inaugurate the Mandiri Indogrosir (TMI) Disabled Shop located on Jl. Foreman Hasan, Bambu Apus, Cipayung, East Jakarta on Tuesday (30/9). The inauguration of the Indogrosir independent store is a form of effort to encourage the economic independence of people with disabilities through an inclusive retail business model. The inauguration event was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection of the Republic of Indonesia, Veronica Tan, Director of Trade Business Development of the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, Septo Soepriyatno, Deputy Mayor of East Jakarta, Kusmanto, and Director of Business & Sharia of Bank Jakarta, Dipo Nugroho.

In her speech, Veronica Tan conveyed the importance of cross-sector collaboration to create equal opportunities. "Empowering people with disabilities requires an ecosystem that involves all parties, government, private sector, community and financial institutions. TMI Difabel is the real result of this collaboration to present an inclusive business space that allows people with disabilities to be empowered through their own efforts," he said.

TMI is Indogrosir's mentoring program for prospective entrepreneurs in the form of modern shops or stalls. In its implementation, Indogrosir synergizes with Bank Jakarta which focuses on supporting prospective entrepreneurs so that they can develop retail businesses in a modern and sustainable manner. This model is now being adopted inclusively for people with disabilities through TMI Difabel, with the Indogrosir scheme as the retail business model provider, the disabled community as the business manager, and Bank Jakarta as the provider of financial service solutions, thus enabling disabled business actors to be more independent in managing their business.

Bank Jakarta Business & Sharia Director, Dipo Nugroho, emphasized the company's commitment to developing inclusive MSMEs. "Bank Jakarta believes that economic development must be inclusive. Our support for TMI with Disabilities is part of Bank Jakarta's sustainability strategy in expanding access to financial services, as well as building a just MSME ecosystem," he added.

Bank Jakarta Corporate Secretary, Arie Rinaldi, added that this synergy is expected to be a real step in building an inclusive business ecosystem, which not only supports the economic independence of people with disabilities but also opens up wider opportunities for the surrounding community.
