Bank Jakarta Supports Free Public Transportation with JakCard as Jakarta's Integrated Transportation Payment Solution

Bank Jakarta is ready to fully support the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government's policy of making public transportation services including TransJakarta, MRT Jakarta, and LRT Jakarta free for two days, namely 31 December 2025 and 1 January 2026, in order to welcome the New Year 2026. This policy is expected to encourage safe, comfortable community mobility, and support an inclusive celebration experience for all citizens of Jakarta and its surroundings.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government urges the public to use public transportation to avoid traffic jams. For this reason, the DKI Provincial Government will make public transportation free from TransJakarta, LRT Jakarta, and MRT Jakarta for two days, namely December 2025 and January 1 2026. The Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, said this policy was implemented so that residents could enjoy the end of the year happily and take advantage of public transportation. "Basically, tomorrow (transportation) will be free which is managed by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. We really want to enjoy the New Year with happiness," said Pramono, on Tuesday (30/12/2025).

Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Service, Syafrin Liputo, said that public transportation fares will be charged IDR 1 to collect data on the number of passengers. Balance deductions occur when passengers tap. "Rp 1 for data collection," he added.

Bank Jakarta's support is realized by presenting JakCard as a card-based electronic money option from Bank Jakarta which is designed to facilitate people's daily transactions, especially when using public transportation in Jakarta, while supporting the transformation towards a more efficient and inclusive digital payment system.

The President Director of Bank Jakarta, Agus H. Widodo, said "Bank Jakarta is committed to supporting a public transportation ecosystem that is integrated and easily accessible to all levels of society. JakCard is here as a practical and reliable payment solution to support Jakarta's urban mobility, especially at important moments such as the New Year celebration," explained Agus. Agus added that the synergy between the banking sector and public transportation is an important element in encouraging financial inclusion and accelerating the adoption of non-cash transactions in the capital city.

Meanwhile, the Corporate Secretary of Bank Jakarta, Arie Rinaldi, expressed his appreciation for the steps taken by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to provide free public transportation services during the New Year celebrations. "Through banking product innovations such as JakCard, we hope to make transactions easier for people, while strengthening an integrated and sustainable transportation payment ecosystem," concluded Arie.

In the future, Bank Jakarta will continue to strengthen collaboration with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and related stakeholders in order to support the development of public transportation and support digital economic growth that is in line with Jakarta's vision as a global city.
