Encouraging Access to Housing Financing, UUS Bank DKI Establishes Synergy with SMF

Published: 10 November 2021

In order to encourage effective access to housing finance for the community, Bank DKI's Sharia Business Unit (UUS) established synergy with SMF by signing a Mudharabah Muqayyadah Agreement worth IDR 479 billion through a replacement financing scheme. The signing of the agreement to provide financing facilities was carried out by the Director of MSE Credit & Sharia Business of Bank DKI, Babay Parid Wazdi together with the Director of SMF, Heliantopo and witnessed directly by the Main Director of Bank DKI, Fidri Arnaldy and the Main Director of SMF, Ananta Wiyogo on Wednesday, 10 November 2021.

Director of MSE & Sharia Business Credit at Bank DKI Babay Parid Wazdi expressed his gratitude for the trust SMF has given to Bank DKI, "We hope that this collaboration can further strengthen the spirit of synergy and collaboration between BUMD and BUMN, especially in increasing access to housing for the community."

"As is known, houses are a necessity for Indonesian people, especially the current millennial generation who have just formed new families. Data shows that up to now there is still a backlog or indicator of housing needs of 11.7 million houses. This is certainly a common concern and an opportunity for the financial services sector, especially banking, to be able to contribute to realizing home ownership opportunities for people in need," said Babay. It is planned that all funds distributed by SMF to Bank DKI will be used for replacement financing for the Bank DKI UUS Sharia KPR Financing Program.

Meanwhile, the Main Director of SMF, Ananta Wiyogo, in his speech said, "By providing this financing facility, we hope that there will be an increase in housing financing capacity so that more people can get the opportunity to own a decent and affordable house,".

Apart from that, Ananta added that replacement financing is a form of SMF support in encouraging the national economic recovery (PEN) program as well as increasing the liquidity of KPR disbursing banks, especially Regional Development Banks (BPD) so that they can continue to be maintained. It is hoped that this will trigger BPD to maximize its ability to encourage credit growth which is being impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

"This collaboration is part of the contribution of SMF and Bank DKI in supporting the National Economic Recovery (PEN) program through the housing sector so that more than 170 related industries can participate during the pandemic and can also encourage banking credit growth that is in line and in tandem with the Government's program to restore national economic conditions. In the future, hopefully the synergy between the two parties will be better. He also invites other BPDs to be able to collaborate together to move the real sector during the pandemic," concluded Ananta.
