Bank DKI's Various Supports in Commemorating International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2023
Jakarta, December 13 2023Jakarta - Bank DKI's support for people with disabilities is realized through active participation in the peak celebration of International Day of Disabilities (HDI) at the DKI Jakarta Province level, which was held at Dunia Fantasi, Ancol, Jakarta on (7/12). The 2023 HDI event has the theme "United in Action to Achieve the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), for, with, by People with Disabilities", initiated by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Social Service and attended by 1,500 people with disabilities and companions.
During this event, Bank DKI also participated in supporting the empowerment of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) owned by people with disabilities, by providing assistance with additional capital for business development which was handed over directly by the Director of Technology and Operations and Acting Main Director (Plt.) of Bank DKI, Amirul Wicaksono. On this occasion, Amirul stated that this initiative was a form of Bank DKI's concern and commitment in building an inclusive society.
"We believe that every individual, including people with disabilities, has the potential and right to contribute to economic and social development. Therefore, Bank DKI strives to provide real support so that they can reach their maximum potential," said Amirul.
The business assistance program for MSMEs with Disabilities launched by Bank DKI aims to provide wider opportunities for business actors with disabilities to be able to develop and compete in the market. Bank DKI will provide various facilities, including easier access to capital and business consulting support, to help MSMEs with disabilities optimize their potential.
The event was also attended by Presidential Special Staff Angkie Yudistia, Acting (Pj) Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono along with a number of related officials, Head of the DKI Jakarta Province Social Service Premi Lestari, as well as 1,500 people with disabilities and companions in government and private disability homes, Social Organizations and Social Welfare Institutions for people with disabilities in DKI Jakarta Province.
Distribute CSR Assistance in the Form of Tools for People with Disabilities
On another occasion, Bank DKI also distributed Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) assistance worth IDR 100,000,000 (one hundred million rupiah) in the form of equipment, including electric wheelchairs, blind sticks, hearing aids, crutches, and monocular telescopes, for people with disabilities in DKI Jakarta Province in collaboration with the Berdaya Menembus Boundaries Foundation on Monday (11/12).
Bank DKI Corporate Secretary Arie Rinaldi hopes that Bank DKI's various supports for people with disabilities can have a significant positive impact on the lives of people with disabilities in Indonesia, especially in DKI Jakarta. Arie also invited the community, business people and other related parties to jointly support efforts to create a just, equal and inclusive society.
"Through these steps, we hope to open up new opportunities, improve the quality of life, and reduce disparities that still exist in access and support for people with disabilities.
