Supporting the Empowerment of MSMEs and Street Vendors, Bank Jakarta Collaborates with APKLI Perjuangan

JAKARTA — Bank Jakarta has established a strategic collaboration with the Indonesian Street Vendors Association (APKLI) Perjuangan, led by Dr. Ali Mahsun M Biomed, as General Chair. This collaboration aims to expand access to financial services for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), especially street vendors who are the backbone of the people's economy in Jakarta.

This collaboration marks the commitment of both parties to encourage financial inclusion in a more massive and sustainable manner, through the use of Bank Jakarta's superior products and services.

The Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung, who also provided support for this collaboration, stated that strengthening the people's economy through markets and small businesses must be a priority for Jakarta's development.

"The point is how the lives of street vendors can get better. They don't get chased by Satpol PP, they can trade safely and comfortably, they can support their children. And the most important thing is that their lives get better," said Pramono at Pasar Santa, South Jakarta, Tuesday (22/7/2025).

He also emphasized the important role of people's markets in national economic development. "One of the other hearts that must be moved is the people's market. And that is the main pulse of our economy," he said.

President Director of Bank Jakarta, Agus H. Widodo, said that this collaboration was in line with Bank Jakarta's vision as an inclusive and proactive financial institution in supporting people's economic empowerment.

"We welcome the collaboration with APKLI Perjuangan. This is part of Bank Jakarta's commitment to provide financial services that are easy to reach, relevant and empowering, especially for informal sector business actors," said Agus.

The scope of cooperation that will be carried out includes the use of Cash Management System services, including financial management and payment transactions; opening savings products such as savings, current accounts and time deposits; providing micro, small and medium financing facilities, as well as access to other banking products in accordance with applicable terms and conditions.

Apart from that, cooperation also includes institutional promotion programs through various media, exhibition activities, product outreach, information collaboration, as well as the development of other forms of cooperation that will be agreed upon according to the needs of both parties.

The General Chairperson of APKLI Perjuangan, Dr. Ali Mahsun M Biomed, expressed his appreciation for Bank Jakarta's progressive steps in embracing the small business community.

"The people's market is an economic system that grows independently in the interaction of the social life of society. This is a cultural heritage and economic power that involves no less than 17 million people's economic actors in this country," emphasized Dr. Ali Mahsun.

Meanwhile, Bank Jakarta Corporate Secretary, Arie Renaldi, added that this collaboration is expected to strengthen Bank Jakarta's role as a strategic partner for Jakarta's MSMEs, as well as expand financial literacy for the small business community.

Through this collaboration, Bank Jakarta and APKLI Perjuangan have agreed to build a mutually beneficial support system, encourage members' financial independence, and accelerate digital transformation in the business activities of street vendors in Jakarta.
