Immediately change to a chip ATM card, here is the schedule and method for changing cards for Bank DKI customers

Published: September 14, 2021

To increase customer security and comfort in transactions, Bank DKI invites customers to immediately replace non-chip/magnetic stripe ATM cards with chip-based ATM cards before 31 October 2021. This invitation is in accordance with Bank Indonesia Circular Letter No. 17/52/DKSP dated 30 December 2015 concerning Implementation of National Chip Technology Standards and the Use of Personal Identification Numbers on ATM cards and/or Debit Cards issued in Indonesia. This was conveyed by the Corporate Secretary of Bank DKI, Herry Djufraini in his written statement in Jakarta, (15/09).

Bank DKI Corporate Secretary, Herry Djufraini said, "the process of replacing a non-chip ATM card with a chip ATM card is quite easy. For Bank DKI customers, the replacement can be done at the nearest Bank DKI service office. Customers are required to bring an identity card (KTP for Indonesian citizens or KITAS/KITAP for foreigners/non-residents) and the non-chip ATM card that will be replaced. There is no charge for replacing this card."

Herry added, "the replacement of chip-based ATM cards was carried out to increase the security of ATM/Debit card transactions both from the side of customers, shops/merchants, and banks as service providers. Cards based on chip technology are relatively safer than transactions using magnetic stripe-based cards because they reduce the risk of theft of customer data and skimming transactions. Non-chip ATM cards that have not been replaced by the specified time limit will be permanently blocked."

Herry said, "Bank DKI ATM cards also have Jakcard prepaid smart card services available, so customers can use the features of both cards." Every Bank DKI ATM card holder can also connect to Bank DKI digital banking services via the JakOne Mobile application. Customers only need to select the Add Account menu in the application, enter the ATM card number and PIN, and ensure the cellphone number matches. "Customers can use the JakOne Mobile service as a digital wallet, mobile banking, scan to pay QRIS, and payment facilities similar to Bank DKI ATM services. JakOne Mobile is already available on Android and iOS," concluded Herry.

Bank DKI reminds customers to keep their PIN confidential and not tell it to anyone. "For further information regarding the Bank DKI ATM card replacement process, customers can visit the website https://jakone.mobi/jakone-blog/gantikartuchip or contact the Bank DKI Call Center at 1500351," concluded Herry.
