Bank Jakarta and ITB Build an Education, Research, and Human Resource Ecosystem

BANDUNG – Bank Jakarta and the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) have strengthened their strategic synergy by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Utilization of Banking Services and Products for Education, Research, Community Service, and Human Resource Development.

This collaboration marks the first step for both institutions to build an adaptive, competent, innovative, and globally competitive ecosystem for education, research, and human resource development.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Bank Jakarta's Director of Finance & Strategy, Basaria Martha Juliana, and ITB's Vice Rector for Finance, Planning, and Development, Prof. Ir. Agus Jatnika Effendi, Ph.D., in Bandung on Friday (August 21, 2026).

Bank Jakarta's Director of Finance & Strategy, Basaria Martha Juliana, stated that the collaboration with ITB is not solely related to the utilization of banking products and services, but is part of an effort to build a broader ecosystem.

"For Bank Jakarta, exploring synergy in this collaboration is not just about utilizing banking products and services; it's about building an ecosystem: an education ecosystem, a research ecosystem, and a community service ecosystem," said Basaria.

According to Basaria, one important aspect of this ecosystem is human resource development. The future challenge, he said, is not only to produce graduates with high intellectual abilities, but also individuals who are adaptive, competent, innovative, and able to respond to global needs.

"Therefore, on this occasion, Bank Jakarta views ITB as a knowledge partner, presenting itself as more than just an educational institution," he said.

Basaria believes that ITB's position as a higher education institution with strengths in science and technology opens up broad opportunities for collaboration for Bank Jakarta. It is hoped that this synergy will not stop at institutional relations but can develop into various programs that benefit both institutions and the community.

The scope of cooperation between Bank Jakarta and ITB includes education, research, community service, human resource development, and the implementation of the Impact Campus program.

Basaria emphasized that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is the first step towards building broader collaboration while prioritizing good corporate governance, compliance, and the principle of prudence.

According to him, the success of a collaboration is not solely determined by the signed cooperation document, but by its implementation and resulting impact.

"Good collaboration is not measured by how good the document we sign is, but by the impact we generate afterward. This Memorandum of Understanding will only be meaningful when it turns into execution," said Basaria.

He hopes the collaboration with ITB can be the beginning of a broader collaboration in supporting the development of competent human resources capable of facing future needs.

Meanwhile, Bank Jakarta President Director, Agus H. Widodo, stated that the signing of the MoU with ITB is a strategic step to strengthen synergy and open opportunities for broader collaboration between the two institutions.

According to Agus, the collaboration is expected to optimize the potential and resources of each party, particularly in supporting human resource development, education, research, and various other collaborative initiatives that provide added value.

"This collaboration is not just about utilizing banking products and services, but also about how Bank Jakarta can be present as a knowledge partner and financial partner that supports the education ecosystem to become stronger, more modern, and more sustainable. ITB builds civilization through science and technology, while Bank Jakarta builds connectivity through financial services and solutions. We bring the two together to provide broader benefits," said Agus.

Bank Jakarta Corporate Secretary, Arie Rinaldi, said that the collaboration with ITB is also part of Bank Jakarta's efforts to strengthen institutional relationships with various educational institutions.

"The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding marks the beginning of building closer communication and coordination between Bank Jakarta and ITB. We hope this collaboration can be followed up through various targeted, measurable activities that are in accordance with the scope agreed upon by both parties," said Arie.

Arie added that Bank Jakarta would continue to foster positive institutional relationships with various parties, reinforcing its position as an institution open to collaboration.

Through professionally established and sustainable partnerships, Bank Jakarta hopes that its synergy with ITB will expand its institutional network and create opportunities to develop programs that generate positive impacts on education, research, human resource development, and the community.
