Bank DKI's performance continues to show improvement and experiences positive performance growth. The bank, whose majority share ownership is owned by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, managed to record profit growth of 40.8% (year-on-year) from IDR 279 billion as of June 2020 to IDR 394 billion as of June 2021. This profit growth was driven by increased credit and improvements in the structure of Third Party Funds (DPK). This was conveyed by the Director of Finance who also doubles as Plt. President Director of Bank DKI, Romy Wijayanto in his written statement in Jakarta, (30/07).

He explained that Bank DKI's Third Party Fund Collection (DPK) experienced growth of 26.9% from the June 2020 period of IDR 35.4 trillion to IDR 44.9 trillion as of June 2021. The growth in DPK was driven by the growth of cheap funds in both Current Accounts and Savings, where Current Accounts grew 59.8% to IDR 11.1 trillion as of June 2021 from previously IDR 6.9 trillion and Savings grew 10.9% to IDR 9.7 trillion as of June 2021 from previously IDR 8.7 trillion as of June 2020. With this growth, the Cheap Funds or CASA ratio has also increased from the previous 44.2% to 46.2% as of June 2021. In the future, Bank DKI will continue to strive to increase the growth of low-cost funds, especially by utilizing customers through Bank DKI JakOne Mobile mobile banking during the pandemic. So that it can encourage better CASA growth. Meanwhile, Bank DKI's assets also increased by 19.4% to IDR 56.7 trillion as of June 2021 from the previous IDR 47.5 trillion as of June 2020.

This profitability ratio for profit growth, along with the increase in Net Interest Income (NII), increased by 27.0% and fee-based income increased by 26.8% compared to the same period the previous year. Bank DKI also succeeded in growing its credit distribution portion to IDR 36.1 trillion or an increase of 12.8% compared to the June 2020 period of IDR 31.9 trillion.

"The main challenge for banks currently is lending to the real sector," said Romy. For this reason, Bank DKI continues to increase its role in the National Economic Recovery Program through lending to the real sector, so that it can contribute more to encouraging economic growth, especially in DKI Jakarta. As of June 2021, Bank DKI has distributed PEN funds amounting to IDR 4.4 trillion, achieving a leverage ratio of 2.1 times the PEN funds provided by the Central Government.

The growth in credit distribution was also supported by improvements in Bank DKI's asset quality, which was marked by a decrease in the NPL ratio, recorded at 3.03% in the June 2021 period or an improvement compared to the June 2020 period of 3.54%. "A number of efforts to improve the non-performing credit ratio have shown good results," added Romy. However, Bank DKI remains alert to the various impacts that the implementation of PPKM will have on the business world.

As DKI Jakarta BUMD, Bank DKI continues to support the provision of access to banking services and social responsibility for a number of synergy programs with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and BUMD in the midst of the pandemic, including the distribution of cash social assistance, the distribution of National Economic Recovery Program (PEN) credit, BUMD synergy through integrated banking transaction services in the transportation sector to food security, as well as the implementation of vaccination centers to help tackle Covid-19. "We believe that Bank DKI's efforts to continue to synergize are the expectations of shareholders in realizing Jakarta as a City of Collaboration," said Romy. Especially in the midst of the current pandemic. "Collaboration in every element of Bank DKI in executing various Business Plans as well as strong support from stakeholders are the main factors in Bank DKI's business continuity," concluded Romy.
