Jakarta – As one of the sectors that benefits economic growth, the tourism sector in Indonesia certainly cannot be separated from the digitalization of banking services, this is what Bank DKI continues to do by presenting digital payment solutions for the tourism sector and MSMEs. This more complete explanation was conveyed by Amirul Wicaksono as Director of Technology and Operations at Bank DKI in a Talkshow entitled "Digitalization of Bank DKI in Supporting Tourism and MSMEs" at the 2022 Indonesian Digital Economy Festival (FEKDI) which took place from 11-14 July in Bali (14/7).
In the talk show which was also attended by Elsya MS Chani as Director of the MSME Development and Consumer Protection Department of Bank Indonesia, Amirul Wicaksono said that if tourism in Indonesia continues to increase, it will also encourage an increase in the MSME sector. This opinion is also strengthened by the description of Bali and Jakarta as regions in Indonesia with a tourism sector that continues to increase.
Amirul further said, "In an effort to support tourism and MSMEs, Bank DKI makes it easier for tourists to make transactions using the JakOne Pay application, which can also be used by foreign tourists. JakOne Pay itself is a simple app for the young millennial generation and Gen Z which can be used to carry out various daily transactions. This application supports transactions for scanning to pay QRIS, as well as other server based electronic money activities. Without the need to change the number to a national number, foreign tourists can make transactions using QRIS." Apart from that, topping up the JakOne Pay application can be done using the credit card owned by the foreign tourist.
As for the period June 2022, QRIS transactions via JakOne Mobile Bank DKI grew 742% (yoy) to Rp. 22.4 billion compared to the June 2021 period of Rp. 2.6 billion. Apart from QRIS transactions, as of June 2022, the number of JakOne Mobile users has also reached 1.7 million users, with a nominal transaction amount of Rp. 9.1 trillion, and transaction volume reached 10.8 million transactions.
For information, in digitalization efforts in the tourism and MSME sectors, Bank DKI has made various efforts including transportation integration, payment electronification, as well as through various collaborations with BPD and BUMD. JakOne Pay as Bank DKI's electronic money is available in a number of applications such as Jakarta Xplore and Ancol apps which facilitate non-cash payments as a form of collaboration in the tourism sector. Director of the MSME Development and Consumer Protection Department of Bank Indonesia, Elsya MS Chani, on the same occasion said, "The presence of QRIS as part of banking digitalization can make things easier for consumers, especially tourists, which is also an effort to support MSMEs in a number of tourism destinations."
The 2022 Indonesian Digital Economy Festival (FEKDI) talk show itself is part of Bank DKI's participation with the theme Advancing Digital Economy and Finance Synergistic and Inclusive Ecosystem for Accelerated Recovery. During this event, Bank DKI also introduced the JakOne Pay application as a non-cash payment service using a server-based QRIS scanning method.
