Bank DKI Urges Social Engineering Alert

Jakarta - Banking fraud cases are still a threat. Moreover, with increasingly advanced technology, fraud can be carried out through various methods. PT Bank DKI (Bank DKI) explains one of the methods commonly used when a fraudster carries out his actions. For example, by asking for personal identification when customers want to access their mobile banking application.

"So the user was contacted, sent an SMS, phished his name with a fake website, then was lured with a gift. Without realizing it, he gave the user ID and password or pin," said Amirul Wicaksono, Director of Technology and Operations, at the Infobank Financial Love Story: Protect Your Heart, Grow Your Health, Secure Your Future, Saturday, February 22 2025.

"If the fraudster has found this, he just has to carry out the transaction at his bank, and because usually, security at the bank goes through these three things, it might be judged that the person is the person who has the account," he added.

For this reason, Amirul reminded the public to always be aware of banking fraud, especially digitally. For example, he reminded us to increase the frequency of changing mobile banking passwords. Next, pay attention to the APK sending mode via WhatsApp. Don't click on the APK, because there is a possibility that this is a form of phishing. Maintaining smartphone security has also become mandatory. Finally, Amirul emphasized the importance of not distributing personal identity such as KTP to just anyone. He was worried that this identity would be misused for irresponsible purposes. In closing, Amirul ensured that these banks always maintained the quality of banking security. The security measures implemented by the banking industry are considered to make it difficult for fraudsters to work.

"In banks, the applications are certainly strong enough. So they have been verified, they have been tested strong enough. Fraudsters should not be shot," stressed Amirul.

Bank DKI Corporate Secretary, Arie Rinaldi, added that as a form of commitment to cyber security, Bank DKI also invites all customers to always ensure that they only access banking services through official channels and are not easily tempted by suspicious offers in the name of the bank. "We strive to continue to increase public awareness of the importance of digital security, so that every transaction can be carried out more safely and comfortably," added Arie.

Introducing Monas Savings Plan Bank DKI On this occasion Bank DKI also introduced a product that can be used by the younger generation, especially generation Z to help with better financial planning, with the Monas Savings Plan which is designed to help customers manage savings in a more disciplined and focused manner in order to achieve various expected financial goals, for example education costs, holidays and wedding costs.
