Governor Pramono Anung Encourages Jakarta BUMD to Dare to Expand
Jakarta, April 20 2026JAKARTA – DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung asked BUMD officials to continue to encourage competitiveness so that they are not only dominant in the domestic market. He wants business entities belonging to the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to begin to dare to expand to a wider level.
This was conveyed by Pramono at the BUMD Leaders Forum 26 "Synergy For Resilience" Strengthening the Role of BUMDs as Economic Pillars in the Jakarta Global City Ecosystem, at Candi Bentar Hall, Putri Duyung Ancol, North Jakarta, Friday (17/4/2026).
"Not being a local player, being a home champion, but fighting outside, for example, Bank Jakarta, Pasar Jaya, Dharma Jaya, and others and I am sure that will also provide benefits for Jakarta," stressed Pramono in front of the directors and commissioners of BUMD.
In the midst of the ambition to strengthen its role as an economic pillar of Jakarta Global City, Pramono also reminded that there are real external challenges. He highlighted the uncertain geopolitical conditions in the world and the threat of the El Nino phenomenon which is predicted to hit in the period April to September.
"So I also ask them to prepare themselves. In this way, hopefully we will consolidate BUMD and build a corporate culture that is more open, transparent, managed professionally," he added.
Pramono closed his briefing with optimism that professional management will make Jakarta BUMDs much more resilient in facing various economic pressures in the future.
For information, at the event which brought together all levels of Commissioners and Directors of BUMD DKI Jakarta Province, the Regional Secretary of DKI Jakarta Province, Uus Kuswanto, Deputy Special Staff Coordinator for the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Yustinus Prastowo, Assistant for Economy and Finance of the Regional Secretary of DKI Jakarta Province, Suharini Eliawati, Head of BP BUMD DKI Jakarta Province and a number of DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Officials were also present.
Apart from aligning the vision, this forum also raised a number of strategic issues, starting from financing synergies through Bank Jakarta and guarantee synergies through Jamkrida Jakarta to optimizing BUMD assets. The Head of the BUMD Development Agency explained that the main focus of this forum was directed at strengthening competitiveness, company health, and Jakarta's development financing capacity.
The Head of BP BUMD DKI Jakarta Province explained that this forum was a continuation of the December 2025 meeting. In BUMD Leaders 2026 three strategic discussion topics were raised.
"The first topic is accelerating investment performance and financial independence through creative financing and financing synergies. For the first quarter of 2026, Alhamdulillah, Bank Jakarta credit facilities have been signed for 3 BUMDs, namely PT Bank Jakarta, PT Perumda Dharma Jaya, and also Food Station Tjipinang," said the Head of BP BUMD DKI Jakarta Province.
While the second topic; Optimizing Investment Performance and Business Development through Strategic Project Guarantee Synergy, with the main results of the discussion including guaranteeing BUMD projects by PT Jamkrida Jakarta and optimizing Bank Jakarta credit guarantees through PT Jamkrida Jakarta.
Third topic; Increasing the Productivity of Strategic Assets as Investment Drivers and New Revenue Stream Generators, including for property development such as Hotels, Mix-used Residential, Park & Ride, as well as infrastructure development such as Waste Water Treatment, Distribution and Food Processing.
To conclude the series of activities, a credit agreement was signed between PAM Jaya and Bank Jakarta. With commitment through the Collaboration Charter, BUMD is expected to be able to transform into a strong, professional institution and play an active role as the main driver of Jakarta's economic growth.
