The synergy of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, Bank DKI, and the Jakarta Scholarship Foundation Distributes Scholarships for Outstanding Students
Jakarta, November 20 2024Jakarta - Bank DKI has again been trusted as a collaborative partner in distributing scholarships by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) and the Jakarta Scholarship Foundation (YBJ) with a total nominal fund of IDR 13.47 billion from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. The distribution was symbolically held at the Jakarta Provincial Government City Hall building on Tuesday (19/11) which was attended by Acting. Governor of DKI Jakarta, Teguh Setyabudi, Regional Secretary of DKI Jakarta and Member of the Board of Trustees of the Jakarta Scholarship Foundation, Marullah Matali, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Jakarta Scholarship Foundation, Sutiyoso and President Director of Bank DKI, Agus H. Widodo.
In his speech, Acting. DKI Jakarta Governor Teguh Setyabudi said this scholarship was a form of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government's serious attention to educational funding assistance. "This scholarship is a mandate from the community and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government which is sourced from Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) funds through a grant mechanism," said Teguh.
Main Director of Bank DKI, Agus H. Widodo, said that the support provided by Bank DKI ensures that the distribution of scholarship funds can be transferred to recipient accounts through Bank DKI Student Monas savings.
"Bank DKI ensures that the distribution process goes well, as part of our support for the smooth education of beneficiaries," said Agus.
For information, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through the Jakarta Scholarship Foundation and Bank DKI distributed grant funds totaling IDR 13.48 billion, which were divided into two categories, namely 1,452 continuing recipients and 795 new recipients, each of whom received IDR 6,000,000. Apart from that, there were 300 students who received thesis writing scholarships worth IDR 3,000,000 per person, with total aid funds reaching IDR 900,000,000.
The scholarship recipients are residents of DKI Jakarta who study in DKI Jakarta and belong to the underprivileged group as proven by a letter from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Social Service. Apart from that, those included in the criteria for scholarship recipients are a maximum of 25 years old with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.
Previously in 2021, Bank DKI also carried out scholarship awards together with the Jakarta Scholarship Foundation and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) with a total of IDR 13.47 billion distributed in scholarship funds given to 2,858 students worth IDR 4.06 million per person per year.
Furthermore, Bank DKI Corporate Secretary, Arie Rinaldi, said that the scholarship funds distributed are a mandate that must be carried out as well as possible as a responsibility for the trust given by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.
"We are committed to carrying out this mandate and trust as well as possible so that scholarship recipients not only achieve academic achievements, but can also make positive contributions to the progress of society and development of Jakarta, as well as Indonesia as a whole. Bank DKI will continue to support programs like this as part of Bank DKI's social responsibility," concluded Arie.
