The Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, said that Abang and None Jakarta is one of the Betawi cultural heritages passed down from generation to generation that needs to be preserved. It is hoped that its presence will be able to bring the pride of the city of Jakarta to the global stage. "The election of Abang None Jakarta is a symbol of the optimism of the young generation who maintains Betawi traditions, depicts the charm of Jakarta and at the same time confirms it as a cultural global city." said Pramono.
President Director of Bank Jakarta, Agus H. Widodo, said that Bank Jakarta's support for the Puncak Abang None Jakarta 2025 event was Bank Jakarta's effort to always be relevant to the younger generation in Jakarta. "Jakarta's young generation is an agent of change who is able to combine tradition and modernity. The presence of Abang None Jakarta is a platform to strengthen Jakarta's identity as a global city with strong Betawi cultural roots," he said.
Furthermore, he also sees extraordinary potential for Abang None as a representative of the younger generation who is ready to carry important messages about financial literacy and inclusion. "With good financial understanding, it is hoped that the large and diverse generation of young people will be more independent, creative and competitive in facing global challenges," said Agus.
Bank Jakarta is ready to open space for selected Abang and None to collaborate with Bank Jakarta to become representatives in realizing increased financial literacy and inclusion on various occasions, including becoming part of Bank Jakarta. "It is believed that the positive influence presented by Abang and None can support increased literacy and broader financial inclusion in supporting the vision of improving Jakarta City towards a Global City," said Agus.
Bank Jakarta Corporate Secretary, Arie Rinaldi, added that Bank Jakarta's support in the final night of the Abang and None Jakarta elections was a good opportunity, including introducing a new call name and logo as "Bank Jakarta". "Bank Jakarta is not only present through banking services, but also as a strategic partner for the Provincial Government and the community in advancing culture, tourism and development of the city of Jakarta," he explained. "This momentum is Bank Jakarta's way of introducing a new face as a regional bank that is modern, inclusive and close to the younger generation. "Abang None for us is not only a tourism icon, but also a strategic partner in conveying Bank Jakarta's new image," said Arie.
Abang None Jakarta, first held in 1968, is a contest to search for tourism ambassadors for DKI Jakarta which is regularly held to promote provincial tourism and culture. This event was an appreciation event for the Abang None Jakarta finalists, who not only showcased their talents and abilities, but also their active role as ambassadors for culture, tourism and the creative economy.
Through this support, Bank Jakarta hopes to continue to contribute to maintaining the richness of Betawi culture, as well as inspiring the younger generation to actively work and build Jakarta as an advanced, modern and cultural city. This support will of course be strengthened through collaboration between the Abang None Jakarta cultural ambassador community and Jakarta tourism actors to encourage the younger generation to better understand financial management, future planning and the use of digital banking services.
