Bank DKI Participates in the Program to Provide Adequate Nutrition to Handle Stunting in the DKI Jakarta Area

Jakarta – As a form of the Social & Environmental Responsibility Program (TJSL), especially concern for the issue of stunting in DKI Jakarta, Bank DKI is collaborating with the Filantra Foundation, Tanah Abang Regional Hospital and Petojo Selatan Community Health Center as well as Petojo Selatan Subdistrict to carry out a stunting prevention and management program through counseling on child growth and development and providing additional nutritious food in the Petojo Selatan Subdistrict area, Jakarta (29/01).

This counseling and stunting handling program is a form of support for the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government's work program related to stunting handling and providing additional food. The Director of Technology & Operations and Acting Principal Director of Bank DKI, Amirul Wicaksono, through an official statement said that through active participation in this program, Bank DKI is committed to making a positive contribution to society and supporting stunting prevention and management programs in Jakarta.

Amirul further said that Bank DKI's participation in the program is also an implementation of Bank DKI's Sustainable Financial Action Plan for 2024. He stated that this stunting handling program is expected to support one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's) Point 2, namely creating conditions without hunger, and Point 3, namely a healthy and prosperous life. "We believe that together, we can achieve positive change in dealing with critical health issues such as stunting," said Amirul.

In a series of stunting prevention and management programs, Bank DKI also provides outreach on child growth and development carried out by health workers from Tanah Abang Regional Hospital. On this occasion, Bank DKI also distributed a number of nutritious foods in the form of eggs, milk, biscuits and chicken to children affected by stunting in Petojo Selatan sub-district, Jakarta. This food will be provided for the next 4 months. Apart from that, Bank DKI, through Filantra, will carry out regular monitoring of the growth and development of children who receive assistance for handling stunting.

Meanwhile, Bank DKI Corporate Secretary, Arie Rinaldi, added that Bank DKI will continue to implement sustainable finance programs in Jakarta, including through implementing Bank DKI's social and environmental responsibility in various sectors. As of December 2023, Bank DKI has implemented a number of social responsibility programs amounting to IDR 5.1 billion.

"Bank DKI's support for stunting prevention and handling programs reflects the values ​​of sustainability and social responsibility which have become an inseparable part of operational activities. We hope that this effort can be an inspiration for other elements to participate in responding to the social challenges faced by society, especially in DKI Jakarta," stressed Arie.
