Attending the Launch of the Visa Debit Card, Governor Pramono: First Steps in the Transformation of Bank Jakarta

Jakarta – The Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, and the Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Rano Karno, attended the grand launching of the Bank Jakarta Visa Debit Card at Lippo Mall Kemang, South Jakarta, on Monday (5/1). This launch is the first step in Bank Jakarta's transformation to improve banking services to a global level.

"This shows that Bank Jakarta is being managed more professionally. By collaborating with Visa, transactions can be carried out anywhere," said Governor Pramono.

He added that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) gives full trust to the Board of Directors and Commissioners of Bank Jakarta to manage the bank without intervention. According to him, trust is the main foundation in transforming government-owned banks so that they are managed in a more professional, healthy and competitive manner.

The Visa network allows the Bank Jakarta Visa Debit Card to be used in more than 200 countries. With this development, Governor Pramono hopes that Bank Jakarta's services will become more reliable, safe and provide maximum convenience for the community at the global level.

"Hopefully with this collaboration, we all feel confident that the Bank Jakarta Visa Debit Card can truly be trusted for the global class," he hoped.

Governor Pramono emphasized the importance of maintaining the integrity of banking services so that technical problems do not arise that could reduce public trust. He is optimistic that, with continued strengthening of professionalism, Bank Jakarta will grow into an increasingly trusted and competitive bank.

He also hopes that Bank Jakarta will play a bigger role in supporting the digitalization of public services, including the transportation payment system managed by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. According to him, the integration of transportation transactions will strengthen Bank Jakarta's database and become a distinct advantage compared to other banks. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government also continues to coordinate with Bank Indonesia and the Financial Services Authority (OJK) to ensure that the entire Bank Jakarta transformation process runs according to regulations.

"If the entire transportation system can be integrated with Bank Jakarta, the power of the database will be very large and will become an important asset for the bank's future development," concluded Governor Pramono.
