Commitment to Implementing Sustainable Business, Bank DKI Wins 2023 IDX Channel CSR Award
Jakarta, December 15 2023Jakarta – Bank DKI's active steps in supporting the implementation of Sustainable Development goals (SDGs) through the implementation of the Jakarta Hydroponic Cooperative (JAKONIK) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, were again appreciated by winning an award from IDX Channel as a CSR Program Category Economic Development Initiatives. The award was handed over directly by the Director of Infrastructure Development and Information Management of PT Kustodian Sentral Efek Indonesia, Dharma Setyadi at the 2023 IDX Channel CSR Award entitled 'Enhancing CSR Strategy To Drive Impactful Transformation' which was held in Jakarta on Tuesday (12/12).
Director of Technology and Operations and Acting President Director, Amirul Wicaksono, said that as a Regional Development Bank (BPD), Bank DKI also plays a role as a facilitator of economic growth and equality for the community in DKI Jakarta, "Bank DKI has a special focus on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives which aim to empower local communities and provide a positive impact on welfare and improving the quality of life," said Amirul.
Furthermore, Amirul explained that the Jakarta Hydroponic Cooperative (JAKONIK) is Bank DKI's flagship CSR program which has been implemented since 2014. This program involves active community participation in developing hydroponic gardens based on community empowerment. Currently, JAKONIK has 9 member groups spread across 9 flat areas in Jakarta. JAKONIK members have been provided with training and assistance to maximize harvest yields and manage hydroponic businesses from upstream to downstream, with roles as hydroponic marketing centers, hydroponic business assistance centers, educational service providers, providers of facilities and infrastructure such as fertilizer, seeds and equipment.
The IDX Channel 2023 CSR Award is a form of appreciation from IDX Channel to companies that have demonstrated superior and consistent CSR performance. Several indicators used as assessment criteria consist of 3 main aspects, namely aspects of compliance with ISO 26000 regarding social responsibility, aspects of Good Corporate Governance, and aspects of CSR program alignment with business strategy and competitiveness. The theme entitled 'Enhancing CSR Strategy To Drive Impactful Transformation' aims to give appreciation to companies that have implemented CSR initiatives that have an impact on business, society and the environment in times of economic improvement.
Bank DKI Corporate Secretary, Arie Rinaldi, added that the success of CSR can be seen from the benefits it produces for the community, "As Bank DKI's flagship CSR, JAKONIK is expected to provide significant benefits to the surrounding community by improving the quality of life of the community and empowering the local economy. Jakonik's success is proven to be able to help reduce social disparities and improve the overall quality of life," said Arie.
One of the CSR programs and a concrete form of support in empowering MSMEs in DKI Jakarta, Bank DKI together with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government have also inaugurated the MSME Village on Pramuka Island, Seribu Islands. In its implementation, Bank DKI carried out restructuring using a digitalization approach through the JakOne Abank application, and JakOne Merchant for temporary locations (loksem) for MSME traders. Through this program, Bank DKI hopes to increase understanding and financial inclusion of local communities, as well as visitors to the Seribu Islands.
