Supporting Sustainable Development, Bank DKI Inaugurates Hydroponic Garden and Provides Educational Assistance for People with Cerebral Palsy

Jakarta – Bank DKI consistently shows its commitment to supporting Sustainable Development Goals through the realization of 2 Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programs, namely the inauguration of the Hydroponic Garden at Rusunawa Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta and Educational Assistance for People with Cerebral Palsy at the Jakarta Disabled Children Development Foundation (YPAC). The Hydroponic Garden CSR program at Rusunawa Pasar Rebo is also a continuation of Bank DKI's Social Responsibility Program (TJSL) in the environmental sector, namely the Jakarta Hydroponic Cooperative (JAKONIK). This was conveyed by the Director of Technology & Operations and Acting Director (Plt.) of Bank DKI, Amirul Wicaksono in a written statement in Jakarta (29/4).

Amirul said, through the Hydroponic Garden Program in Rusunawa Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta, it is an effort to improve the community's economy by increasing food security based on the environment around the residence. "Bank DKI supports the development of hydroponic gardens from a technical perspective to development, so that the community can play an active role in optimizing yard land into plantations with healthy, productive consumption crops," said Amirul.

For information, the Bank DKI Hydroponic Garden Program is one of the TJSL programs that has been consistently implemented since 2017. This program is the result of collaboration between Bank DKI and a number of flat community communities. Previously, the Bank DKI Hydroponic Garden TJSL Program had been implemented in 9 (nine) flats, namely Jatinegara Kaum, KS Tubun, Jatirawasari, Daan Mogot, Cipinang Besar, Pondok Bambu, Tipar Cakung, Tambora Tower and Pulo Gebang flats. The entire Hydroponic Garden program will be integrated into the Jakarta Hydroponic Cooperative Program which is based in Rusunawa Pulo Gebang, East Jakarta in 2022.

Apart from carrying out the inauguration of the TJSL Hydroponic Garden Program at Rusunawa Pasar Rebo, at the same time Bank DKI also handed over educational funding assistance to children with Cerebral Palsy who are at the Jakarta Foundation for the Development of Disabled Children (YPAC). This assistance was received directly by Lukitaningsih as Secretary of YPAC Jakarta. Providing educational funding assistance is a form of Bank DKI's attention and support in the field of education, as well as providing opportunities for children with Cerebral Palsy in Jakarta and its surroundings, with the aim of achieving a higher quality of education.

Bank DKI Corporate Secretary, Arie Rinaldi, on a separate occasion said, the Hydroponic Garden CSR Program, as well as Education Fund Assistance for People with Disabilities, are part of PT Bank DKI's Sustainable Financial Action Plan (RAKB) which will be implemented in 2024. "The TJSL program carried out by Bank DKI is a form of the company's efforts to implement Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), considering that Bank DKI's role is not only as a business entity, but also provides added value for the sustainable development of the city of Jakarta and its citizens," concluded Arie.
