Bank DKI and DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Equip MSMEs to Face the Competitive Economic Era
Jakarta, August 18 2023Jakarta – Bank DKI, in collaboration with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, as a form of commitment to support and empower MSMEs, is holding a financial literacy education program packaged in training with the theme "Entrepreneurial Mentality and Personal Financial Management Literacy" for more than 500 MSME players assisted by the East Jakarta Administrative City Small and Medium Enterprises Cooperative Industry Trade Sub-Department or known as JakPreneur. The training that has been carried out throughout the July 2023 period has been carried out in 10 sub-districts in DKI Jakarta, namely: Cakung, Duren Sawit, Jatinegara, Pulo Gadung, Matraman, Kramat Jati, Kampung Makassar, Pasar Rebo, Cipayung and Ciracas.
Director of Technology & Operations, concurrently Acting Principal Director of Bank DKI, Amirul Wicaksono, in a written statement, said that the financial literacy training program is Bank DKI's commitment to encourage MSME players to be ready to face challenges and welcome opportunities in an increasingly competitive economic era. "With better knowledge and skills in financial management, it is hoped that MSMEs can manage their businesses more efficiently and with quality, thereby increasing their competitiveness and being able to grow and develop sustainably." said Amirul.
For information, Bank DKI recorded KUR distribution in 2022 of 100% of the quota or IDR 1.15 trillion to approximately 6,023 MSE and Micro business actors. As for 2023, Bank DKI will receive a portion of IDR 2.8 trillion with a conventional allocation of IDR 2 trillion, and Sharia allocation of IDR 800 billion.
Amirul further emphasized that Bank DKI will continue to be committed to not only expanding access to credit/financing, but also continuing to encourage empowerment and provide assistance so that MSMEs can grow and develop in supporting the regional and national economy. "The program that has been running is a pilot project and in the future it will be continued to other areas of DKI Jakarta." added Amirul.
According to the Head of East Jakarta PPKUKM Sub-dept., Derlina Melinda Sagala, this activity is also a form of implementation of DKI Jakarta Provincial Governor Regulation No. 2 of 2020 concerning Implementation of Integrated Entrepreneurship Development. "The training was attended by entrepreneurship experts, banking practitioners, MSME and entrepreneurship practitioners from Bank DKI as well as DKI Jakarta Provincial Government JakPreneur assistants. The MSME/Jakpreneur actors who attended also felt that they had received great benefits from this training activity and hoped that similar entrepreneurship training could be held more frequently and routinely." said Derlina.
Support MSMEs Through Digitalization
Apart from the capital side, Bank DKI is also active in supporting MSME players through the market digitalization program in DKI Jakarta, especially the market managed by Perumda Pasar Jaya. Bank DKI is also providing a payment ecosystem through the JakOne Abank application, implementing QRIS, and digitizing payments in other facilities in the market environment, which is expected to encourage the implementation of non-cash transactions. In terms of digital service solutions, Bank DKI also continues to develop the JakOne Mobile application as a super app with various digital service features that can accommodate various daily financial transaction needs, especially for traders and market visitors, such as paying various bills, taxes, levies, online shopping, electronic money top ups, and QRIS transactions.
Bank DKI Corporate Secretary, Arie Rinaldi, added that various digitalization breakthroughs carried out by Bank DKI are expected to provide benefits in expanding financial inclusion in DKI Jakarta through non-cash transactions, one of which is ease in applying for credit or financing.
