Expanding Acceptance, Bank DKI's JakCard Can Now Be Used as a KRL Travel Ticket

Bank DKI collaborated with PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI) in providing easy commuter line (KRL) train travel tickets, at an event entitled "Launching the Implementation of JakCard Use on Commuter Line Trains" which was held at the KAI Commuter Juanda Station, Jakarta (27/7). The event was also attended by the Director of Technology and Operations of Bank DKI, Amirul Wicaksono, as well as the Director of Operations and Marketing of PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia, Broer Rizal and related officials from both parties.

Director of Technology and Operations at Bank DKI, Amirul Wicaksono, said that this implementation was an important momentum in efforts to expand JakCard acceptance for the public, especially KRL users with high mobility. "Through this implementation, Bank DKI is increasingly completing its services in creating a non-cash transaction ecosystem in DKI Jakarta. This is also in line with Bank DKI's support in realizing the integration of public transportation payments in DKI Jakarta," said Amirul.

The President Director of Bank DKI, Fidri Arnaldy, on a different occasion explained that the acceptance of JakCard as a KRL travel ticket is one part of Bank DKI's efforts to strengthen the Electronic Money Card segment, and provide non-cash transaction options for the public. "Bank DKI is optimistic that electronic money transactions will increase as part of people's preferences for easy, safe and comfortable transactions," said Fidri.

For your information, since its launch in 2007, Bank DKI has continued to expand JakCard acceptance, which can now be used for various entrance tickets such as the Ragunan Wildlife Park, the National Monument, Taman Impian Jaya Ancol and various museums managed by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. Not only that, JakCard can also be used on a number of toll roads such as Jagorawi, JORR, Bogor Outer Ring Road, inner city toll roads and the Bali-Mandara toll road. For transportation ticket needs, JakCard can be used for Transjakarta, Mikrotrans, MRT, LRT Jakarta and LRT Jabedebek tickets.

Furthermore, Fidri is optimistic that JakCard, which can now be used as a KRL travel ticket, will become increasingly popular considering that Bank DKI continues to record growth in JakCard usage, where in June 2022 there were 2.5 million transactions recorded, and as of June 2023 total JakCard usage transactions were recorded at 5.1 million transactions or a growth of 104.86% Year on Year (YoY). For people who want to use JakCard, they can buy it at Bank DKI Branch Offices, various museums and tourist attractions managed by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. In the future, JakCard will be available through the official JakCard store on Tokopedia as well as in retail stores such as Indomaret. Apart from that, JakCard users can top up using a cellphone with an NFC feature via the JakOne Mobile application or via Tokopedia.

In line with this, the Director of Operations and Marketing of PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia Broer Rizal expressed his appreciation and hope for the collaboration carried out with Bank DKI as an effort to encourage people to use public transportation. "With the implementation of Bank DKI's JakCard, it is hoped that it will provide convenience and options for ticket payment transactions for people who will use the Jabodetabek Commuter Line," said Broer Rizal.

As additional information, the volume of Jabodetabek Commuter Line users from July 2023 to July 25 reached 19,370,263 people. while the average user on weekdays is 857,968 people per day and the average on holidays and weekends is 626,974 people per day, with the most users on Monday 3 July, namely 912,923 people.

Meanwhile, the number of payment transactions for Jabodetabek Commuter Line tickets using tap cards (Multi Trip Cards and Bank Electronic Money) is 95% of the total transactions. Meanwhile, 5% of transactions use QR Code.
