Bank DKI together with PT Rintis Sejahtera as manager of the PRIMA Network signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in order to expand the transaction banking network between countries. This signing makes Bank DKI the first Regional Development Bank (BPD) in developing payment transaction networks abroad. The development of cross border collaboration services through PT Rintis Sejahtera is one of Bank DKI's commitments in providing the best service and making it easier for customers to carry out domestic and international transactions.
This collaboration was signed by the Director of Technology & Operations of PT Bank DKI, Amirul Wicaksono, the President Director of PT Rintis Sejahtera, Iwan Setiawan and the Marketing Director of PT Rintis Sejahtera, Suryono Hidayat, witnessed by the Country Director of UnionPay International, Andy Xie in Jakarta (27/5).
On this occasion, Amirul Wicaksono stated, "Through this collaboration, the needs of Bank DKI customers to be able to make transactions abroad (cross border transactions) using Bank DKI ATM cards, will be fulfilled, especially for customers who are going abroad to travel, work, do business, study or for religious needs."
For information, the collaboration between Bank DKI and PT Rintis Sejahtera is a cross-border transaction service collaboration via the UnionPay International (UPI) ATM network and APN (PayNet-Malaysia, ITMX-Thailand, KFTC-Korea). The presence of UPI and APN in this collaboration is a strategic step for Bank DKI in partnering with PT Rintis Sejahtera to be able to compete better with national private banks in providing trusted banking services.
In this case, Bank DKI will be the Issuer and Acquirer, where there will be two types of debit cards, namely those with the GPN logo and the UnionPay logo which can be used abroad.
This cross border transaction service via the UPI network can be used in 180 countries. One of them can be used in Saudi Arabia. In this way, it will be easier for Bank DKI customers who are carrying out the Hajj and Umrah in the holy land, because they can carry out transactions in the form of cash withdrawals, balance checks, and transactions on EDC machines. This service has more than 55 million merchants, who can accept UnionPay transactions globally. The number of Bank DKI ATM/Debit cards in circulation in the first quarter of 2022 was 3.92 million cards.
Meanwhile, in his speech, Suryono Hidayat said "PT Rintis Sejahtera welcomes the collaboration with Bank DKI in order to expand the ATM transaction network abroad, in this case we are ready to provide infrastructure in order to realize ease of transactions for Bank DKI customers"
Amirul Wicaksono further added that customers who have a Bank DKI ATM card can make transactions at the ATM while enjoying holidays or religious trips and other activities abroad. This is one of Bank DKI's efforts to be present to provide easy transactions for customers anywhere, anytime. "In terms of future business development, Bank DKI will focus on developing 80% of UnionPay digital cards and maximizing the use of the New JakOne Mobile digital banking application as a means of payment using QRIS and NFC methods." closed Amirul Wicaksono.
