Bank Jakarta Supports STBM Declaration by Donating a Community Sanitation Facility in Tomang, West Jakarta

In support of the Community-Based Total Sanitation (STBM) Declaration, Bank Jakarta has implemented a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative by donating a community-based public sanitation facility (MCK – Bathing, Washing, and Toilet Facility) in Tomang Urban Village, Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta. The STBM Declaration was attended by Jakarta Vice Governor Rano Karno, West Jakarta Mayor Iin Mutmainnah, and several institutions collaborating on community sanitation projects in Jakarta, including Bank Jakarta.

Jakarta Vice Governor Rano Karno stated that the Jakarta Provincial Government remains committed to advancing the implementation of STBM throughout the capital as one of the indicators of a healthy city and a key parameter in Jakarta's aspiration to become a global city. With the inclusion of Tomang Urban Village, the number of villages in Jakarta that have achieved Open Defecation Free (ODF) Commitment status has increased to 194 urban villages, representing 72.65 percent of the total.

According to Rano, this achievement reflects the successful collaboration of various stakeholders committed to improving the quality of life for the community.

"I hope all collaborators continue to receive every support in carrying out their efforts. As Jakarta approaches its fifth century, we must continue to strengthen our synergy and collaboration to provide the best possible services for the public," said Rano. He also expressed his appreciation to Bank Jakarta and all collaborating institutions that participated in the initiative.

Meanwhile, West Jakarta Mayor Iin Mutmainnah said the declaration represents an important step toward realizing Jakarta's vision of becoming a healthy global city. One of the requirements for obtaining Open Defecation Free (ODF) status is that at least 500 households have access to proper sanitation facilities that meet STBM standards through adequate bathing, washing, and toilet (MCK) facilities.

In a separate statement, Bank Jakarta President Director Agus H. Widodo said that the donation of the community sanitation facility reflects Bank Jakarta's commitment to supporting public health improvements, particularly in densely populated areas of Jakarta.

"This community MCK CSR program represents Bank Jakarta's commitment to improving the quality of life and creating a healthier living environment for the people of Jakarta," Agus said.

"Through this CSR initiative, Bank Jakarta believes that collaboration among the government, the private sector, and the community is a vital foundation for building a modern, healthy, and competitive Jakarta," Agus added. He emphasized that Bank Jakarta's support for community sanitation programs forms part of the bank's long-term commitment to creating sustainable social impact for the people of Jakarta.
