Supporting Community-Based Total Sanitation, Bank Jakarta Donates a Communal Public Sanitation Facility in Tomang, West Jakarta

In support of the Community-Based Total Sanitation (STBM) program, Bank Jakarta has implemented a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative by providing one communal public sanitation facility (MCK) in Tomang Subdistrict, Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta. This CSR program aims to support the strategic efforts of the Jakarta Provincial Government in improving public health and achieving the target of becoming an Open Defecation Free (ODF) area. From an environmental perspective, open defecation contributes to increased contamination by pathogenic bacteria such as E. coli, polluting both groundwater and surface water sources. This can lead to various environmental health problems, including diarrhea, gastrointestinal infections, and an increased risk of stunting. In densely populated urban areas such as Tomang Subdistrict, West Jakarta, limited land availability presents a major challenge to developing individual sanitation facilities. Therefore, the establishment of a communal public sanitation facility (MCK) with standardized wastewater management provides an effective and practical solution. The donation of this communal sanitation facility reflects Bank Jakarta's commitment to improving public health in Jakarta, particularly in densely populated neighborhoods. Through this CSR initiative, Bank Jakarta continues to contribute to creating a healthier community and a better living environment.
